Edward Claessen

Edward Claessen, Head of Unit – Infrastructure Funds (Equity, New Products and Special Transactions Department), European Investment Bank

He joined the EIB Group in 2003 in the Private Equity Funds team of the EIF where he was a Principal responsible for managing new investments and monitoring a portfolio of funds. In 2013 he joined the Public Sector & Utilities team at the EIB where he focused on developing new business in the Netherlands. In 2017 he moved to ENPST to focus on infrastructure equity fund investments.

Prior to joining the EIB Group he was managing director of UCP UK Ltd (later acquired by Qpass, in turn acquired by Amdocs), a London-based wireless technology company. He started his career at Ballast Nedam International, in Qatar, as project engineer.

He holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and obtained a Bilingual Master of Business Administration from IESE Business School (Barcelona, Spain).
